At 10:00 AM local time on August 14, the newroller press combination grinding systemat HUAXIN BUILDING MATERIALS GROUP’S Maweni plant in Tanzania was officially commissioned. This upgrade raises the plant’sdaily cement grinding and despatch capacityto 12,000 tones and pushes its annual cement production capacity beyond 3.5 million metric tonnes, further consolidating HUAXIN BUILDING MATERIALS GROUP leadership position in the local market.
The combination grinding system project represents another major capacity‑expansion and technical retrofit undertaken by Maweni following the commissioning of its Phase II clinker production line. With the new system now operational, the plant not only achieves significantly higher grinding efficiency and lower unit power consumption—effectively aligning with clinker capacity release—but also delivers improved cement strength stability and construction workability. These enhancements better address the diverse requirements of residential construction, precast component manufacturing, ready‑mix concrete plants, and major infrastructure projects, providing a solid building‑material supply foundation for Tanzania’s socio‑economic development.
In recent years, backed by superior product quality and a comprehensive after‑sales service system, the Huaxin Materials brand has earned strong trust among local industrial and civil customers, including precast yards and batching plants. National landmark projects such as the Kidunda Dam, the Tanga Port Expansion, the SGR railway, the Kigoma Airport renovation, the Arusha National Stadium, and the East African International Conference Centre have all utilized Huaxin cement and related building materials. Maweni has won the “Best Cement Brand” award from the East African Business Council (EABC) for two consecutive years. In February 2025, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan personally visited the plant and inaugurated the Phase II kiln line, highly commending HUAXIN BUILDING MATERIALS GROUP’S contributions to Tanzania’s industrial revitalization and employment growth.
The commissioning of the roller press combination grinding system is yet another classic example of HUAXIN BUILDING MATERIALS GROUP leveraging its core equipment manufacturing and process technology strengths to carry out targeted capacity‑expansion retrofits at its overseas facilities. It marks a new phase in the Group’s production capacity deployment and localized operations across Africa. Looking ahead, HUAXIN BUILDING MATERIALS GROUP will continue to deepen its local operations and sustain its contributions to regional infrastructure development and socio‑economic progress.
Maweni plant is HUAXIN BUILDING MATERIALS GROUP’S first project in Africa. In 2019, the Group completed an equity acquisition and took over operations, reviving production lines that had been idle for years through technical retrofits, with cement products officially launched in 2021. In January 2024, the Phase II 4,000‑tonne‑per‑daynew dry process cement clinker production lineand its supporting 15 MW biomass power plant were commissioned, creating over 1,000 local jobs and making the plant Tanzania’s largest producer of cement and clinker.
