On July 1, H.E. Kasim Majaliwa, Prime Minister of Tanzania, led a delegation which was mainly composed of officials from various departments of Tanga region to visit and inspect the construction of Phase II project of Maweni Limestone Limited (MLL) of Huaxin in Tanzania.
During the visit, Jing Changxi, the Country Manager of Huaxin Tanzania, introduced the plan and progress of Phase 2 to the Prime Minister, and briefly reported on the development trend, production and operation status, as well as future investment and development plans of Huaxin in Africa.
Prime Minister Mr. Majaliwa stated that the friendship between China and Tanzania was jointly established by the founding head of Tanzania, Julius Kambarage Nyerere, and Chairman Mao Zedong. China and Tanzania have been long-term friendly strategic partners, and Tanzania welcomes Chinese investors to invest and prosper. Huaxin Investment has met the urgent needs of cement industry development and construction in Tanzania, while directly providing a large number of employment and driving the development of transportation, mining and other related industries. It is hoped that Huaxin Phase II could be put into operation as soon as possible, and Tanzania government will consider granting supporting policies to replace imported clinker by domestic produced clinker.
The Prime Minister has also responded to the issues encountered in the business operation and project construction one by one, stating that they will pay high attention and urge relevant authorities to address them as soon as possible.
At the end, Prime Minister Mr. Majaliwa invited MLL employees to take a group photo. The visit of the Prime Minister has enhanced the sense of pride of local employees and the popularity of MLL in Tanzania, which will strongly promote the stronger development of Huaxin in Tanzania.
On the same day, MLL was also invited to participate in the 10th anniversary celebration of the Confucius Institute at University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
