Aftereightmonthsofintensivepreparation,HuaxinSouthAfrica'sSimumaplanthascompletedallcivilengineeringworksandequipmentinstallationforitsupgradingandexpansionproject,currentlyenteringthecriticalphaseofintegratingover100newandoldsystems.Theprojectisscheduledforfullcompletionbymid-June2025,whichwillboosttheplant’sproductioncapacityby260%andsubstantiallystrengthenthecompany’smarketcompetitivenessandindustrialleadershipinthelocalregion.
TheSimumaplanthasoperatedfor41yearswithoutdatedequipment,lowoutput,inefficiency,andhighcosts.Undertheheadquartersguidance,theSouthAfricansubsidiarypromptlyplannedanupgradeandexpansioninitiativerightaftertheacquisition,commencingcivilconstructioninSeptember2024.Theprojectinvolvesconvertingtheexisting1,500tonnesperdayclinkerproductionto4,000tonnesperday,buildinga9megawattswasteheatrecoverysystem,addingacementmillwithoutputofamilliontonnesperyearaswellasalternativefuelprocessingandfeedingsystem,andseveralotherminorupgradingprojects.Itisacoremeasureofsolidifyingthecompany’sstrategicupgrading.
ThemanagementoftheNPCandtheprojectexecutionteammaintainedclosecollaboration,effectivelyaddressingchallengessuchaslinguisticbarriers,culturaldisparities,regulatoryvariationsandholidayscheduling,aimingtosettheprojectinmotionefficientlyandsystematically.
