At 10:38 am local time on November 29th in Mozambique, Cimentos de Moçambique (hereinafter referred to as CM) initiated trial production of a 3000 tpd clinker production line at its Nacala factory. The new clinker line will further reduce operational cost and increase efficiency, enhance market competitiveness and brand influence with high-quality products and services, and inject strong momentum into Huaxin's business expansion in Africa.

Huaxin officially took over CM in December 2023, which has 5 cement factories, with Nacala factory located in the northern part of the country. The revamping and upgrade of old Nacala kiln line started on 16th November, 2023. The ignition was achieved in just 12 months after overcoming many challenges, demonstrating the Huaxin Speed.

Huaxin CEO Li Yeqing, Vice President Xu Gang, Director of Engineering & Equipment Hu Zhenwu, the CM management team, representatives of the contractors, and project construction team, gathered at the ignition ceremony to witness this important moment together.

Li Yeqing fully affirmed the selfless dedication and hard work of Chinese employees, local teams in Mozambique, and various contracting units. He stated that Huaxin has firmly fulfilled its commitment to continue investing in Mozambique by upgrading, renovating, and expanding the existing old production lines at the Nacala factory. The ignition the new Nacala kiln line marks the beginning of a new journey for the Nacala factory and CM as a whole. Huaxin will closely cooperate with the local team of CM, work together to revitalize CM and achieve new breakthroughs.

Fernando Barreto, acting CEO of CM, stated that since CM joined Huaxin, they have received all-round support in terms of technology, management, funding, and project construction. The ignition and production of the Nacala kiln line is the result of the joint efforts of both Huaxin and the local team. In the future, the CM team will continue to work with the Chinese team to build a brand new Nacala factory and CM, creating a new and prosperous century together.

Huaxin remains a positive outlook on the development prospects of Mozambique and is about to commence construction of the Dondo3000tpd kiln line project in Beira, with plans to put it into operation by the end of 2025. At the same time, Huaxin will actively expand its upstream and downstream businesses and strive to build CM into the most competitive building materials enterprise in Mozambique.
