Recently, Vice President and General Manager of Overseas Region Mr. Xu Gang paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Silvino Augusto José Moreno, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Mozambique. Xu Gang introduced the operations of Huaxin in Mozambique and the progress of clinker project in Nacala, and exchanged ideas on investment and industrialization and etc.

Xu Gang said that after the take-over of Cimentos de Moçambique (CM), Huaxin retained the previous core team and worked together with the Chinese team to improve the CM's industrialization level and market competitiveness. In addition, Nacala clinker project is currently being accelerated as planned. After the project is put into production, it will continue to employ mainly local Mozambicans, contribute tax revenues and further enhance the industrialization level of Mozambique with providing high-quality products and services as before.

H.E. Mr. Moreno expressed his thanks to the investment of Huaxin in Mozambique and said that Huaxin is a well-known enterprise with successful investment cases in many countries in Asia and Africa, creating a large number of local jobs and tax contributions, and achieving good economic and social benefits. Relevant government departments in Mozambique will continue to support Huaxin’s cement business in Mozambique and coordinate to speed-up the progress of the Nacala project.
