On this significant occasion of the 117th anniversary of the founding and the 30th anniversary of public listing of Huaxin and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania, the Cement Klin Line (Phase II) of Maweni Limestone Limited (MLL) was successfully commenced for trial run at 9:48 on January 14, 2024 (local time). The Company is expected to double its clinker productivity after the final operation of the project and become the largest cement plant in Tanzania, which will help enhance the influence and competitiveness of Huaxin in the African market.

CEO Mr. Li Yeqing, Vice President Mr. Xu Gang, and Director of Engineering & Equipment Mr. Hu Zhenwu, as well as representatives from the contractors, the project construction teams and MLL’s teams witnessed the grand ignition ceremony on site.

MLL is Huaxin's first plant in Africa. The original 4000tpd clinker line and the 0.75mta cement grinding station were revamped and upgraded into a key growth pole for Huaxin’s overseas business expansion. The Cement Klin Line (Phase II), which started construction on July 26, 2022, is the first new dry-process clinker cement production line interdependently developed by Huaxin in Africa with the world's most advanced production process and equipment. It also showcased the world the astounding “Speed of China” in just 16 months of construction with all hands to the pump upon efficient optimization and integration of various resources like manpower, technologies, equipment, logistics, and customs.

Li Yeqing fully affirmed in his speech the arduous efforts and significant contributions of all construction entities and the staff from MLL. Huaxin, in his words, has been successfully transformed MLL from an old cement plant into a modern and advanced facility thanks to the relentless pursuit of all Huaxin overseas staff since 2019, and is now becoming the largest and foremost cement plant in Tanzania. Looking ahead, Huaxin will continue to strengthen and expand its overseas businesses in association with friends and neighbors guided by the “Belt and Road” Initiative, to embody the tremendous value of China and enormous strength of Huaxin. It is believed that MLL will make further contributions to boost economic and social development locally as a model of win-win outcome for China-Tanzania relations.

Mr. Jing Changxi, Country Manager of Maweni Limestone Limited, said that the completion of Phase II is merely the first step for the next stage of MLL and the local teams will make incessant efforts to forge MLL into the strongest integrated building materials manufacturer in Tanzania, thus creating a new chapter for Huaxin overseas business.
