October 29th 2023

The 2023 World Cement Association (WCA) Annual Conference took place in Dubai from 24-25 October. The project titled "Development and Application of Low-carbon Nitrogen Reduction Ultra-large-scale Cement Production Technology and Equipment," led by Huaxin with CEO Mr. Li Yeqing as the primary contributor, secured this year's sole innovation award from WCA.

The 2023 World Cement Association Annual Conference gathered global cement leaders, esteemed experts, and scholars to take in-depth discussions on pressing topics such as global cement market trends, new emission and consumption reduction technologies, material and product innovations, and sustainable development. The aim was to deeply explore the industry's growth strategies and embrace a green, low-carbon development approach, thereby supporting the building materials sector's goals of carbon peaking and neutrality worldwide. During the conference, Mr. Li Yeqing and international cement enterprise leaders engaged in discussions centered on "Cement Industry 2040," shared insights on the future direction and commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Huaxin's project on "Development and Application of Low-carbon Nitrogen Reduction Ultra-large-scale Cement Production Technology and Equipment" has marked several significant technological milestones. Notably, it achieved the full localization of 10,000-ton main equipment at Huaxin Huangshi Plant and introduced the world's largest clinker cooler and single cement combined grinding system. This accomplishment distinguished it as the sole recipient of the World Cement Association's Innovation Award this year.

In recent years, Huaxin has embraced the development concept of green and low-carbon building materials throughout its lifecycle. It has amplified its commitment to pollution mitigation, carbon reduction, and energy conservation. By vigorously expanding its integrated cement operations and introducing new building materials, it has consistently diminished the carbon footprint of its primary products, hastening its shift towards eco-friendly practices, all while bolstering the sustainable evolution of the cement industry.

Established in 2016, the World Cement Association (WCA) stands as the first global non-profit organization representing the cement industry and its stakeholders, it aims to foster a platform for technological advancement and industry-wide structural reform. WCA ardently supports the global cement industry’s pursuit of carbon neutrality, thereby advancing the global cement industry's sustainable trajectory.
