Prime Minister of Mozambique visits Huaxin in Wuhan

H.E. Mr. Adriano Afonso Maleiane, Prime Minister of Mozambique visited Huaxin Wuhan Business Center in the afternoon of October 20, accompanied with Ms. Chen Ping, Vice Governor of Hubei Province, Mr. Wang Hejun, Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique, Ms. Maria Gustava, Mozambican Ambassador to China and other officials and representatives from business communities. The Prime Minister came to Wuhan after attending The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing.

Chairman Mr. Xu Yongmo, Vice Presidents Mr. Liu Fengshan, Mr. Wang Jiajun, Mr. Ye Jiaxing, Director of the Digital Innovation Center Mr. Tang Jun gave the delegation a warm reception and introduced them to visit the Corporate Culture Exhibition Hall and the Data Management Center.

The delegation was impressed by Huaxin's development history, business scale and performance, in particular the overseas achievements in the past 10 years of alignment of "The Belt and Road Initiative", as well as the ongoing developments of Huaxin's investment projects in Mozambique.

The Prime Minister appreciated the strong strength of Huaxin and he believed that Huaxin project in Mozambique would definitely become a model for local industrial projects.

On June 26, 2023, Huaxin signed an agreement to acquire 96% of the equity of Cementos de Mozambique, which has 5 cement factories with cement production capacity of approximately 3.3 million tons per year. At present, the civil engineering and installation construction of the Nacala 3,000tpd upgrade and renovation project has been steadily advancing, which it’s expected to be completed and put into operation in August 2024. After being officially come on-stream, it will make significant contributions to promoting the structural adjustment of the local cement industry, creating employment and promoting economic and social development.

Ms. He Lijun, Deputy Secretary General of the Hubei Provincial Government, Ms. Zhang Xiaomei, Director of the Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and Mr. Li Bin, Counselor of the African Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the event.
