Founded in 1949, Chilanga Cement Plc is Zambia's leading supplier of building materials and construction solutions, and one of the most important listed companies in the Zambian stock market. It owns two cement plants, one in the capital Lusaka, with 0.8 million tons of cement capacity, and Ndola of 0.3 million tons of cement capacity, respectively. Chilianga Cement Plc is the oldest cement factory in Zambia and became a subsidiary of Huaxin in 2021. For the past 70+ years, the company has assisted the Zambian government in building infrastructure and promoting economic development,. After the acquisition, Huaxin has overhaul the whole industrial system by introducing new management concepts and ideas as well as capital injection to renovate the plant equipment. In 2022, both the numbers of kiln shutdown and cumulative time of kiln shutdown have slashed, which was highly commended by the shareholders.
